Minimum Requirements for Graduation

  1. Before being allowed to graduate, a student must clear all financial debts and obligations to the school and/or it's organizations.

  2. EXIT (GEE) Exams: To be considered for graduation and participation in graduation ceremonies, a student must pass the mathematics, language, composition portions, and the social studies or science portions.

  3.  Carnegie Units Required for Graduation: In addition to passing all the GEE, a student shall earn a minimum of 23 Carnegie units of high school credit in order to graduate. The required units shall include:

a)  English - 4 units. Three of the four units must be English I, II, and III (in consecutive order) and English IV or business English. A full credit of either English IV or business English is required for graduation.
b) Social Studies - 3 units. These shall be one unit of American history, ½ unit of civics, ½ unit of free enterprise and one unit of the following: World History or World Geography.
c)  Mathematics - 3 Units of mathematics shall be required for graduation. They shall be selected from the following courses and may include a maximum of 2 entry level courses (designated E): Introductory Algebra/Geometry (E), Algebra I- Part 1 (E), Algebra I- Part 2, Integrated Mathematics I (E), Integrated Mathematics II, Integrated Mathematics III, Applied Mathematics I (E), Applied Mathematics II, Applied Mathematics III, Algebra I (E), Geometry, Algebra II, Financial Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics I, Advanced Mathematics II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus Probability and Statistics, and Discrete Mathematics.
d)  Science - 3 units. These shall be Biology I and two of the following: Biology II, Physical Science, Physics, Chemistry, or Environmental Science. Agriscience/Agribusiness I & II may  substitute for the third required science.
e)  Health and Physical Education - 2 units. 1½ units of physical education (I and II are required) and ½ unit of health education. A maximum of 4 units of physical education may be used toward graduation.
f)  Electives- 8 units
g)  Required units- 15½ units
h)  Total required for graduation- 23 units
